About

Waves

You deserve support that sees all of you.

Waves Psychotherapy is an Ontario-based psychotherapy practice founded by Nicole Pitt, MSW, RSW, a social worker, psychotherapist, educator, and ASL-English interpreter. Waves was created to offer trauma-informed, inclusive, and whole-person support for people navigating anxiety, trauma, overwhelm, identity, life transitions, and the lasting impact of what they have carried for too long.

Why I Built Waves

My name is Nicole Pitt

Over the years, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals, families, and communities through some of life’s most complex experiences, including trauma, grief, addiction, burnout, disability-related barriers, identity struggles, parenting stress, and the quiet exhaustion of carrying too much for too long.

Again and again, I saw the same gap. It was not a lack of caring professionals.

It was a lack of spaces that truly honoured the whole person. Too often, support felt fragmented. Clinical work in one place. Accessibility in another. Psychoeducation somewhere else.

Real life sitting just outside the room.

Waves grew from that gap.

I built Waves on the belief that healing is shaped not only by what has happened within us, but also by what has happened around us. Our relationships, systems, environments, culture, access, and lived experiences all matter. Healing is personal, but it is also relational, embodied, and deeply influenced by the world we move through.

Waves is a space where therapy can be thoughtful, grounded, trauma-informed, and human. A space where people do not have to leave parts of themselves at the door in order to be supported.

This is the work I have devoted my life to, and Waves is the practice I built to hold it.

Waves Psychotherapy exists to offer grounded, trauma-informed, and inclusive support for the whole person. Our mission is to help individuals make sense of life’s undercurrents, reconnect with themselves, and build lasting resilience through compassionate, integrative care.

Our Vision Statement

Our vision is a world where people feel safe to heal, supported in their growth, and empowered to live with greater self-awareness, resilience, and connection. Waves Psychotherapy strives to make mental health care more compassionate, inclusive, and accessible by honouring the whole person and creating space for lasting, meaningful change.

Healing the past so it stops living in your present.

Waves operates on the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, and Huron-Wendat peoples, and the home of the Métis Nation. This land is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement to share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. We are grateful to live and work on this territory and we honour the resilience and continued presence of Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island.
